Our water system and roads will most likely be a challenge with the current growth. In addition the residents will see a large increase in taxes placing a burden on its property owners.
The biggest challenge that Sellersburg will face in the next 5-10 years will be one that is beyond its control. The challenge will be dealing with the fallout from the changes being made with West Clark Schools and Silver Creek specifically. The excellence of our school district was perhaps the biggest incentive for the residents of our area. However, the reputation of Silver Creek Schools have declined in recent years and this will present a significant challenge for Sellersburg if improvements are not made and the issues with the school are not resolved. Sellersburg will need to work hard as a town to provide other incentives to retain residents if the decline in quality of education and facilities remains a…
